However, the 46-year-old did offer an update on his recovery in his social media post, saying: I look forward to begin the healing process and preparing for the future.
Woods’ latest setback has raised further doubts over whether he will be able to compete at The Masters, the first major of the year, which gets underway at Augusta National in April.
But, given his remarkable powers of recovery and determination to return to the top of the game, it would be unwise to completely write off the chances of seeing Woods back on the fairways in the future.
