And I believe that Mo Salah has put himself before the team with those comments and I think that’s selfish. And I think that’s why Liverpool find themselves in this situation, because of certain individuals putting themselves before the team.
So I’m disappointed with Mo Salah, but I’m also disappointed with Liverpool as well. They’re in this situation because they’re not doing what they should be doing as a football club. They should be keeping their best players, and at this moment, they’re not doing that.
So it’s disappointing all round, but the most disappointing thing for me is Mo Salah speaking out in the way he did after such a big win for Liverpool.
He is undoubtedly Liverpool’s best player and has been consistently delivering at an exceptional level. However, Carragher makes a valid point that no player is bigger than the club itself. Liverpool have a rich history of great players coming and going, and the club has always managed to move on and find success.
It’s important for both Salah and Liverpool to find a compromise that benefits both parties. Salah deserves to be rewarded for his performances, but the club also needs to ensure they are not held to ransom by any player. Hopefully, they can come to an agreement that satisfies both sides and allows Liverpool to continue to thrive even if Salah were to eventually move on.
