Mercedes have shown significant progress in recent races, with Hamilton and Russell finishing third and fourth respectively in Spain and the team currently sitting fourth in the Constructors’ Championship.

Hamilton praised the team’s efforts, saying: The team have done a fantastic job to be able to progress forward and to really understand the car and the issues we’ve been having.

We’re not where we want to be, but we’re definitely making steps in the right direction.

Looking ahead to this weekend’s Sprint format at the Red Bull Ring, Hamilton remains focused on continuing to improve and push for more strong results.

He concluded: It’s going to be interesting to see how the weekend unfolds. I think it’s going to be a really exciting race and I’m looking forward to it.

Hopefully we can continue to push and improve and get some good results.

Hamilton will be hoping to build on his podium finish in Spain as he aims to climb further up the standings in the remaining races of the season.

We just need to keep pushing, keep developing, and keep building on the progress we have made so far. It’s an exciting time for the team and we are all motivated to continue improving and fighting for podiums and wins.
