It was a proper Test match, a proper pitch, a proper contest between bat and ball. It was a fantastic Test match. The last thing Pakistan want is a flat pitch where there is no contest between bat and ball. They want a pitch that turns, that spins, where there is a contest. That is what Test cricket is all about. This Test match was a great advert for Test cricket. Stick with this formula, stick with this pitch, and Pakistan cricket will be in a good place.
It will be interesting to see how the pitch plays out in the third Test and how the teams adjust their strategies accordingly. The flat nature of the pitch could make for another high-scoring game, but hopefully, we see some good competition between bat and ball.
