So I think they need to just work out the tempo of their batting in 50-over cricket. They’ve got the firepower, they’ve got the ability, they’ve got the depth. They just need to work out how to put the scores on the board, how to judge the pace of the game. That’s what I would like to see.
It’s not a disaster, it’s not panic stations, but I think it’s an important few months for England white-ball cricket.
The hosts may have won the first ODI, but they will be wary of England’s response in the second match as the visitors look to bounce back and level the series.
