Verstappen’s frustration was evident throughout the race as he struggled to make up positions and ultimately finished in sixth place. Despite the disappointing result, the Dutchman maintained his composure and took responsibility for the incident with Piastri.
It’s not the way I wanted to end the season, but that’s racing sometimes, Verstappen said. I have to take it on the chin and move on. Congratulations to Lewis [Hamilton] on the win and to my team for another great season.
With the 2022 season now behind him, Verstappen will shift his focus to the upcoming season and look to defend his title against a competitive field of drivers. As he reflects on the highs and lows of the past year, the Red Bull driver will undoubtedly use this experience as motivation to come back stronger in the future.
