He was just really loose with his passing, Postecoglou said. He gave the ball away in some dangerous areas and we couldn’t afford to do that.
We had to make a change there and I thought Harry [Winks] came on and did really well in the second half. That was the reason for that change.
Postecoglou was also quizzed on Sergio Reguilon’s performance, with the defender appearing to struggle at times against Fulham’s pacy attackers.
Reguilon was another who was hooked at half-time against Burnley last week, but the Spurs boss was more measured in his assessment this time around.
I think he was okay today, Postecoglou said. I thought it was a challenge for him today, playing against [Harry] Wilson who’s a really good attacking player.
Sometimes you’re in a game where the opposition is going to have those moments and I thought he handled it okay. We just needed to change our shape a little bit to get more attacking players on the park.
