It’s up to the powers that be to make that decision, and I’m sure they will make the right decision. But I think it’s always nice for the players to have a captain that they can relate to and that they feel comfortable with.
It will be interesting to see how things develop in the future, but for now, it seems like there are some obstacles to overcome before someone like Poulter or Westwood could be considered for the role of Ryder Cup captain.
