It seems that Tiger Woods did not become captain because of his new responsibilities to the PGA Tour and the time commitments involved. He felt that he would not be able to commit the necessary time to Team USA and the players as a captain. However, he expressed that he still hopes to captain a team in the future.
But Keegan has been a great player, he’s been a great Ryder Cup player and he obviously has the respect of his peers. He’s very passionate, very articulate, very well spoken. He’s going to bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the team room and I think that’s important.
