Colby’s abrirá en lugar de la popular pizzería en Stretford

Colby’s is to open on the old site of Bakehouse32 under the ownership of partners Andy Farrell and Neil Cheetham.

From Friday (May 24) the bar and kitchen named after the owners’ dog is to serve a selection of drinks including cocktails whose names are nods to the town such as Essoldo and Traffic Cone (if you know, you know).

Soon it is to serve a selection of seasonal small plates in the evenings, as well as brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

Mr Farrell said: “Being a part of the community is something of which we are proud. Stretford is changing and so too is the need for more places to eat, drink and meet with family and friends.

“We are confident Colby’s will be able to offer something for everyone. It will complement some of the venues already in the area and it will be an asset to a town that’s changing for the better.”

Bakehouse 32 is on the move to a new site at Stretford Mall in a part of the former foodhall which shut this year. Stretford Foodhall followed in the footsteps of Sale Foodhall, at Stanley Square, which shut last year after less than a year and a half in business.

Previously David Donovan-Brown, the owner of the popular pizzeria which specialises in New York-style pizza, said it is expanding its menu to include pastas and a range of sides and it is extending its hours to include a morning menu and a lunchtime menu too.

Mr Donovan-Brown said: “We cannot wait to continue our journey in the heart of the town centre. Our New York-style pizza will, of course, be on the menu and we are excited to be expanding our menu to include breakfast, creating a day through to night experience.”

“We will be joining forces with other local businesses in the area. Keep an eye out for more announcements from us soon.”
