Lossiemouth beat Teahupoo by seven lengths, but Beacon Edge was only five lengths behind Teahupoo. So, in theory, Beacon Edge should have been two lengths behind Lossiemouth at the finish.
It’s something to consider going forward, especially with the Champion Hurdle in mind. Lossiemouth is clearly a very talented mare, but there are still questions to be answered.
Overall, it seems like Lossiemouth’s performance in the Hatton’s Grace has divided opinions, with Paddy Brennan being very impressed while Matt Chapman remains cautious. It will be interesting to see how things play out in the upcoming races, especially with the Champion Hurdle on the horizon.
