RD: Nottingham Forest are currently sitting in sixth place in the Premier League. Do you believe they can maintain this position and potentially finish in the top six?
EM: Absolutely. Our ambition is to finish in the top six and we believe it is a realistic target for us. We have a strong squad, a great manager in Nuno Espirito Santo, and we are working hard every day to achieve our goals. We have had a good start to the season, but we know there is still a long way to go. We are focused and determined to continue our momentum and push for a top-six finish.
RD: What are your thoughts on the January transfer window? Do you have any plans to strengthen the squad?
EM: We are always looking to improve our squad and we will assess our options in the January transfer window. We have a talented group of players, but if the right opportunity arises to strengthen our team, we will not hesitate to make a move. We want to give our manager the best possible chance of success and we will do whatever it takes to support him in achieving our goals.
RD: Finally, what message do you have for the Nottingham Forest fans?
EM: I want to thank our fans for their unwavering support. They are the heartbeat of this club and their passion drives us to succeed. We are committed to building a successful future for Nottingham Forest and we will continue to work tirelessly to make our fans proud. Together, we can achieve great things.
RD: Thank you for your time and insights, Evangelos. It has been a pleasure speaking with you.
EM: Thank you, Rob. It has been a pleasure to discuss our ambitions and plans for the future. Nottingham Forest is a special club with a rich history, and we are determined to write the next chapter of success together. Onwards and upwards!
You consider it as stewardship. This is something that we need to be very careful about because we are not the owners, we are the stewards. We are the ones that take care of the club for the next generations.
So, yes, we are looking at other opportunities, but it needs to be the right fit. It needs to be something that aligns with our values and our vision for the future. We want to continue to grow and expand, but always with the same principles in mind – togetherness, responsibility, and respect for the tradition of the clubs we are involved with.
RD: It’s clear that you are very passionate about your clubs and about football in general. What do you hope to achieve with Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest in the future?
EM: My vision for both clubs is to make them competitive on the domestic and international stage. I want Olympiacos to continue to dominate Greek football and make a mark in European competitions. As for Nottingham Forest, I want to see them back in the Premier League and competing for major honours.
But beyond just success on the pitch, I also want to create a strong fan base and a sense of community around both clubs. Football is more than just a game, it’s a passion that brings people together. I want both Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest to be clubs that their supporters can be proud of.
RD: Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, Mr. Marinakis. It’s clear that your dedication to your clubs and to the sport of football is unwavering.
EM: Thank you for the opportunity to speak about my passion for football and my vision for Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest. I hope that fans of both clubs and football enthusiasts around the world can see the commitment and love that I have for the beautiful game.
