Guardiola’s side struggled to break down a well-drilled Liverpool defence and their task was made even harder when Bernardo Silva was sent off for a second yellow card in the 78th minute. Sadio Mane sealed the victory with a late goal to put Liverpool in a commanding position at the top of the table.
Neville believes that City now need to undergo a rebuild to challenge Liverpool and other top teams in the future. He praised Guardiola for his achievements at the club but suggested that changes are needed to keep up with the relentless pace set by Jurgen Klopp’s side.
