Overall, Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester City have the edge in the Premier League title race, despite their vulnerability to counter-attacks. City are currently unbeaten and sit just one point behind leaders Liverpool. Carragher feels that City, along with Liverpool and Arsenal, are the top contenders for the title. However, he does point out that City’s vulnerability to counter-attacks, especially following the injury to Rodri, could be a concern for them as the season progresses. Despite this, Carragher still believes that City are the team to beat in the title race.
If they had 11 men on the pitch, could they have held on for a point against Manchester City? Could they have got something against Chelsea? It’s going to be really difficult for them to win the league if they keep getting red cards. It’s something that has to stop quickly if they want to be serious contenders.”
