Elizabeth Dobson from London, Ontario, shared her experience of taking a “personal heritage journey” with Kensington Tours after becoming interested in genealogy following her retirement in 2015.
During her trip in May 2024, she spent 12 days tracing her great-great-grandfather’s footsteps in England.

She even had the opportunity to visit the Spyglass Inn on the Isle of Wight, where her great-great-grandfather passed away in the late 19th century.
Dobson was able to view some of his paintings that were kept in museum storage as well.
One of the most memorable moments for her was visiting her ancestor’s gravesite.
“We found his grave, my great-great-grandmother’s grave, and one of my great-uncle’s … sons was buried there. We brought flowers from London to place on their graves,” Dobson shared.
“That was quite important.”
