We know Red Bull are going to be quick tomorrow, I am sure Ferrari will find some pace overnight. But we are in a great position.
Hamilton added that the team are not getting carried away with their strong showing on Friday, knowing that Red Bull and Ferrari will come back stronger on Saturday.
It’s a tight battle at the front, but Hamilton and Mercedes seem to have found their form just at the right time. Sunday’s race promises to be an exciting one with multiple teams in contention for the win.
Norris echoed Sainz’s sentiments, saying that McLaren had a good day overall but still have work to do to be competitive with the front runners.
We had a good day, we made some improvements between the sessions and the car felt better, but we’re still not where we want to be. There’s still a bit of work to do tonight to try and find some more pace for tomorrow, he said.
It’s shaping up to be an exciting qualifying session with multiple teams in the mix for pole position. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top in the battle for the front of the grid at the Spanish Grand Prix.
